Asia North Gallery Exhibition

April 7 - May 28

Asia North 2022 Exhibition:
Remembrance, Resilience, Power + Pride
This exhibition provides a healing and empowering space for regional Asian and AAPI artists to express remembrance, resilience, power and pride within the context of the ongoing triple pandemic of COVID-19; social, environmental, and racial injustice; and economic insecurity. In resistance to these injustices, we celebrate pride in our cultural heritage; gain strength in connecting across cultures; honor, through remembrance, friends, family and mentors we have lost; and call attention to the importance of civic engagement and environmental stewardship. Research documenting Asian community histories of Greater Baltimore is also on view.

Featured artists include: Reed Bmore, Lisa Golightly Braden, Cheng Cao, Aishwariya Chandrasekar, Esie Cheng, Susanna Eisenman, Hyunsuk Erickson, Gloria Tseng Fischer, Nico Gozal, Farhad Heidarian, Ara Ko, Jinyoung Koh, Nick Lee, Jeena Lee, Yifan Luo, Hadrian Mendoza, Manzar Moghbeli, A. Moon, Kat Navarro, Yam Chew Oh, Kiddo Pan, Sookkyung Park, Momma Rain, Yeeve 이재인 Rayne, Ellie Rha, Myung Ryu Kim, Rey Velasquez Sagcal, Rachana Saurabh, Jiwoo Shin, Nahid Tootoonchi, Ellie Yanagisawa, and Winston Zhou.

About the Asia North Festival
Asia North celebrates the arts and Asian culture that are defining characteristics of Baltimore’s Charles North neighborhood, part of the Station North Arts and Entertainment District.
Inaugurated in spring 2019, Asia North is a collaborative community celebration that recognizes, showcases, and honors the art, culture and the Asian heritage of Greater Baltimore, especially the Korean history of Baltimore’s Charles North community.
The Asian Arts & Culture Center co-produces events with the Central Baltimore Partnership, and multiple community partners. Area artists and organizations present exhibits, performances, films, and more. In spring 2020, the programs expanded to online formats.
