Motor House is proud to announce its 2023 Artistic Season. Included in this year’s lineup is live music, poetry, comedy, and visual art.  

After weathering the pandemic as safely as possible, Motor House fully re-opened in July of 2021 for rentals and regular operating hours at the Showroom Bar. Motor House’s full schedule of events are available online at www.motorhousebaltimore.com/events

Art of Comedy
Wednesdays at 8:00 PM
Produced by Ivan Martin, Founder of the Baltimore Comedy Festival and voted Baltimore Sun’s Best Comedian 2020, this open mic hosts up to 25 comedians each week in the West Bay of Showroom and is hosted by a rotation of Baltimore’s funniest comedians. In 2015, Art of Comedy was ranked by CBS as one of the ‘Best Places in the City to See Stand-Up in Baltimore’.

Artist Talk Series
Every Other Tuesday at 8 PM
Curated and hosted by Raymond J. Spence, this series focuses on artists from various disciplines that echo Motor House’s mission and vision. This event is free and open to the public and often includes a Q&A portion for audience to participate in.

Cultural Conversations

Cultural Conversations at Motor House are culturally relevant topics are discussed in a round-table format with community members, stakeholders, and field experts. These conversations address a myriad topics that give space for all voices to be heard, promote debate, and the cultivation of new ideas and perspectives.

On March 21 we are discussing Black Hair. From 4C to 1A, from porosity to products, and from the bald baddies to the sewn-in inches. We want to hear from YOU!

Digital Artists Portfolio Program
The Digital Artist Portfolio Development (DAP) Program is a professional development accelerator that provides artists of any discipline time, space, and resources to produce a digital/virtual portfolio. Applications for DAP Cohorts open quarterly!

Main Gallery
The Motor House Main Gallery is the first space you experience when entering our building. Our gallery introduces you to the visual art work of Baltimore’s bold and vibrant artistic community. We focus on providing a platform for local emerging artists through a lens of justice and equity.
